ITINERARY: Each day our Power Catamaran "Blue Lagoon" visits the world famous “Baths” on half-day trips both in the morning and
afternoon. This is the perfect trip for our Cruise Ship guests who want to make the most of their time in the BVI and especially enjoy world
famous Baths. We pickup at 8:15 am and 12:15 pm right at the foot of the Cruise Ship Pier and our home dock is only 2 minutes away by
taxi.
We’ll start the day with a fast, smooth and scenic 15 minute cruise across Drakes Channel to Virgin Gorda; we'll anchor at our mooring
right in the heart of The Baths. You'll have over 3 hours to snorkel and take our guided walking tour through the unique granite boulders.
While at the Baths you can snorkel to through the crystal clear water around the huge boulders and even make your way through some
swim through tunnels if you’re an adventurous swimmer.
There are 3 different sandy beach coves within the Baths and we will visit two of
them – Spring Bay and Devils Bay. The Baths gets it name from the African Slaves who first inhabited the BVI during the Rum Trading Era
of the 1700’s. Legend has it that these secluded coves were used as a private bathing area for the slaves during this period. Some
naturalists have gone as far as to call the Baths the eighth wonder of the world. The huge granite boulders seemed to be tossed around
chaotic manor that only can be appreciated in person.
We give you time to hike up the hill to the “top of the Baths Restaurant;” it’s the
perfect spot to have lunch and enjoy a scenic view over the Baths and across Drakes Channel. As noted - we return to Tortola at lunch for
an afternoon trip, but if our PM trip has room you can stay on shore for lunch at the “Top of the Baths Restaurant,” or just simply enjoy
more sun bathing or snorkeling, if you prefer to make a full day out of the excursion. Snorkel equipment is included and lessons are
available. Be sure to bring your own towels, hats, sunglasses and plenty of sunscreen; no coolers are allowed on this trip.
